⚠️ Attention! To minimize battery consumption to as low as 0.1-0.3%, use the PUSH mode. |
To ensure that KOMPaaS Softphone works correctly, make sure that:
A verified address is associated with the phone number.
A user is associated with the phone number.
- For Telephony, see “How to link a user to a phone number”.
- For Virtual PBX, see “Linking a user to a subscriber of PBX equipment”.
A SIP account has been created and linked to the subscriber's internal number.
⚠️Attention!
It is important to add SIP account type → Mobile.
For more details, see “How to create a SIP account” и “How to bind a SIP account to an IP address”.
⚠️ Attention! The application does not work on Android versions below 8.1.1 and is not compatible with any version of the stripped-down Android GO Edition. |
✅ Note: This instruction was created using a Xiaomi device with Android 14. |
Download and install the softphone on your smartphone from the “Telephony” section → "Equipment" tab. Or use the direct link.
Grant permission to send notifications in order to receive Push and other notifications for the application to function in the background.
Please log in.
Grant permission to record audio. This is a standard permission for working with the microphone in third-party SIP applications that use their own call handling.
Allow the app to be a "On top of others". This is necessary for receiving incoming calls if you are using the built-in call handling instead of the system's. The built-in call handling is recommended for most phone models.
Make sure that the “Integration of calls” setting is set to “By default”.
If you have more than one phone number, you can select the numbers you want to use in the application by checking the boxes in the "Telephony" section.
KOMPaaS Softphone modes:
Push Mode — the application is unloaded from the device's RAM while maintaining connectivity via the server. When a call arrives, the server sends a special Push notification that activates the phone, enabling an almost instantaneous response to the call with a delay of no more than 1 second.
This mode is ideal for long-term use without significantly draining the battery. The likelihood of missing incoming calls is less than 1%, and energy consumption in Push mode is minimal — ranging from 0.1% to 0.3%.
The mode automatically activates when the application is closed (swiped off the screen) on the smartphone.
Background Mode — the application maintains a constant connection to the server while running in the background. This ensures high reliability for receiving calls with no delays but comes with increased battery consumption.
Background mode is recommended in situations where the device remains continuously connected to a charger, such as in the office or at home.
