How to reduce battery consumption in KOMPaaS Softphone

Modified on Thu, 29 May at 1:22 PM

  • Push Mode — the application is unloaded from the device's RAM while maintaining connectivity via the server. When a call arrives, the server sends a special Push notification that activates the phone, enabling an almost instantaneous response to the call with a delay of no more than 1 second.

This mode is ideal for long-term use without significantly draining the battery. The likelihood of missing incoming calls is less than 1%, and energy consumption in Push mode is minimal — ranging from 0.1% to 0.3%.

The mode automatically activates when the application is closed (swiped off the screen) on the smartphone.

  • Background Mode — the application maintains a constant connection to the server while running in the background. This ensures high reliability for receiving calls with no delays but comes with increased battery consumption.

Background mode is recommended in situations where the device remains continuously connected to a charger, such as in the office or at home.

The mode is selected through the bottom menu 'More''Settings' tab → 'Additional'.
