Call interception

Modified on Tue, 28 May at 9:12 AM

Call interception is the ability to switch a subscriber's call to yourself when the called subscriber cannot answer the call. For example, due to being busy or absent.

How to intercept a call:

  • To intercept a specific subscriber's call, dial ∗8subscriber_number (for example, *83614900999), and then the key responsible for ending the dialing (for example, Dial or # on Cisco or Linksys devices).
  • To intercept any subscriber's call, dial ∗8, and then the key responsible for ending the number dialing (for example, Dial or # on Cisco or Linksys devices).
  • The 8 key is used to intercept a call by default, but can be changed in the settings.

How to allow or deny subscribers access to call interception:

  1. In the Virtual PBX section, select the Settings >> Dial plan >> Extension numbers >> Extension tab.

    Note:
The call interception option is only available for internal subscribers of the virtual PBX. See How to set up an Internal number.

  2. For a subscriber to be able to intercept other subscribers' calls, the checkbox at Deny call interception must be unchecked.

How to set up keys for call interception:

By default, the 8 key is used to intercept other subscribers' calls. You can change it to any other key from 0 to 9. To do this:

  1. In the Virtual PBX section, select Help >> Hotkeys.

  2. In the Call interception settings group, select the desired key for intercepting a specific subscriber's and/or any subscriber's call. The key will be changed.
